Chair Workshop

Audencia, French pilot of the STEP network

The entry of Audencia's Family Entrepreneurship & Society chair into the privileged circle of STEP members is a strong signal that shows recognition of our expertise and commitment to family entrepreneurship. Since 2013, this commitment has taken concrete form in the creation and development of educational programs dedicated to the future leaders of family businesses, to the growth of family businesses, and in the development of research projects useful to businesses. The Chair is thus strengthening its positioning in family entrepreneurship at the national and international level.

History of the STEP network

Founded in 2005 by Babson College in collaboration with six European universities, the STEP project is a global applied research initiative that explores the entrepreneurial process within family businesses and generates solutions that have immediate application for business leaders.

After 15 years, the STEP project's global consortium becomes an independent organization. Academics and family businesses from around the world have joined as partners in the STEP project to explore intergenerational practices in entrepreneurship.

Family businesses are the world's leading form of business organization, playing a leading role in creating social and economic value for communities and countries. Their ability to pass on the entrepreneurial spirit from generation to generation is crucial to their longevity and growth. The exchange of practices is at the heart of the project.
