Audencia professors honored at the International Communication Association (ICA) conference

From May 26 to 30, numerous of researchers converged on Paris for the annual conference of the International Communication Association. This highly selective scientific event brings together the best communication researchers from around the world. Several Audencia professors contributed to the event.

In addition to the main conference, Dominique Trudel (Communication, Culture and Languages) co-organized a pre-conference on the theme of Empires and Imperialism at Agence France-Presse. Bringing together some fifteen international researchers, this event will result in a collective publication. Dominique Trudel also received the "Top Paper" award from the Communication History division for his presentation last year ("Franklin Ford and the History of a Post-Discipline," jointly with Professor Juliette De Maeyer, Université de Montréal).

Jérémy Vachet (Communication, Culture and Languages) presented a paper entitled "Entrepreneurial Hype and Cheap Entrepreneurs: Music Making and Contingent Employment Relationships" in the Media Industry Studies division. He also presented his new book "Fantasy, Neoliberalism and Precariousness" from Emerald Publishing

Colleen Mills (FIA) and Céline Legrand (Organizational Studies and Ethics) jointly presented a paper entitled "Writing on the Wall: Revealing How the Sociomaterial Micro-Practices at the Heart of Communication Create Team Unity".

Cynthia Stohl (FIA), and former ICA President, chaired two sessions and presented several research papers on organizational communication and CSR.

Thomas Martine (Communication, Culture and Languages) presented a paper entitled "The Voice of the Work to be Made" in the Language and Social Interaction division.

Finally, Professor Karolina Koc-Michalska (Communication, Culture and Languages) participated in the writing of no less than 5 papers presented in the Political Communication division, all co-authored with foreign colleagues.

The participation of the Audencia faculty is remarkable, both for its quality and its diversity. It not only testifies to the excellence of the School's researchers, but also to their presence in international research networks. This is a strong differentiating factor for our faculty doing research in information and communication sciences.
