The European STEP Meeting at Audencia

The European STEP Meeting at Audencia

The Chair Family entrepreneurship & society welcomed last week the European STEP Meeting at Audencia. This is the first in person meeting after our last similar event organized in Nantes in 2019. The STEP Project Global Consortium brings together an international group of scholars and institutions which explore together entrepreneurial families across generations and conduct academic research with strong relevance and impact on business families and family firms all over the world.

We had the pleasure to welcome members of the STEP Europe group coming from :

  • Witten/Herdecke University
  • University of Jaén, AVOLO Chair of Family Businesses
  • ESCP Business School
  • IPAG Business School

And also professors and researchers from the United States:

  • Utah State University, Huntsman School of Business
  • Babson College
  • Colorado State University

On Thursday, March 31st, 2022, we organized the first STEP Project Conversation Series event at Audencia on the mediacampus TV set. The discussion, animated by Miruna Radu-Lefebvre, focused on the topic of Legacy in Family Business. We were honored to welcome James (Jim) Davis, William B. (Bill) Gartner, Gideon Markman and Natalia Vershinina to this inspiring event.

On April 1st, during the STEP Europe meeting, the participants shared their work-in-progress topics and ideas, presented to the audience their research profile and evolution over time, and engaged  together in elaborating new research models to be further tested and theorized, based on STEP data.

The two intense days of research meetings and discussions were interspersed with convivial and gastronomic moments that delighted our guests from Italy, Spain, France and the United States.
